There are so many Oh my Gosh /Oh my God moments in parenting.. Don’t you think? Don’t you wonder??? Well.. my latest fascination is with sibling rivalry. Probably because I don’t know what it is being an only child. The grunting.. the growling.. the crying… all of those BIG FEELINGS in such a short moment of time. All frontal lobe function especially executive functioning even for the “calm” one out the window.. Oh wait even for me as a parent. It’s like feeding off of their emotion is going to take it down a notch…
Where did my clinical counseling skills go in those moments????? Non existent!!! Why haven’t I taught them conflict resolution in those moments?? Hmm.. better get on that!!
Truth be told this is all of it== relationships to the max.. there are moments where significant others do the same — fight like cats and dogs.. how do you make up? How do these siblings grow from it.. Maybe they love it so much they do it more so!!
Regardless all said in done– love it!! Sibling rivalry shows how much relationships are about it all– love and catastrophes of emotions too!
